Wacked Out Wench!Serving the world, one idiot at a time. March 08 Where do I stand politically?
Good question. I’m not entirely sure to be honest. I’ve never thought of myself to be much of a political person. During ones life their views tend to change as they get older. I say older and not ‘mature’ Of course I’m not saying I’ve not matured in my old age! But maturity seems to vary with every person. I might be called ‘sad’ for saying that I honestly don’t believe that one person can change the world. The world is a rather large place, and for me, I don’t ‘want’ to change the world. Why would I? If I change the world for my better, it will not be ‘better’ for another person. This is why world peace is a pipe dream. Every person is different, and not one person has the exact same views on everything. I tend to stay away from watching a lot of news and reading the newspapers. I stay away from elections. Because things don’t really change, they just bounce back and forth with each other with each one that comes into office.
Clearly there is something completely messed up with this country on many levels.
The American Dream Ah, yes…to have that big house with the dog and family attached to it. To have that nice car and the ability to send –your- children to college without a worry in your mind! To wake up every morning and wave at your neighbors while you grab the daily newspaper. Ok… reality check please. The American dream doesn’t exist. And why would anyone want it? It is an almost unobtainable goal. Clearly, some have touched it and tasted of it. But is it really worth it? Happiness comes in a jar of pills these days. (Didn’t you know?) Let’s have our self cleaning vacuums, and our 7 car cup holders all in the name of convenience. Meanwhile, there are starving people in other countries (including the good ole u.s.a.) You might have seen him when you drove your family to soccer practice the other day. He lives on the city block behind the cardboard boxes. I’m sure you’ve seen him! The one you tell your children not to look or talk to. Yes… pretend they aren’t there. Pretend that there are actual people that are ‘beneath’ you. Maybe they will go away if you do that. Let’s only concern ourselves with our own family, let’s not worry about the family down the street who barely have enough money to put clothes on their kids and all you do is look down at them like they are ‘lower class’ People like that is one of the reasons why I feel abortion should be legal.
Corporations encourage this! Let’s do anything for money! Who cares about the lowly worker who has to work two minimum wage jobs just to pay their rent and put food on the table, and let’s not forget that they are easily expendable! Anything you can do for that extra bonus at the end of the year so you can go on that European vacation next summer! For those that have that mentality and lifestyle, I have one thing to say to you. Get your head out of your backside and look around. The world does not revolve around you.
Abortion Is it right or is it wrong? For me personally, it’s almost like a catch 22. On one hand, I feel that everyone should be given a chance in life. Born or not yet born. And let’s just face the facts, that unborn baby is alive. Just because it’s not breathing air from the outside doesn’t mean anything. Let’s grow some compassion shall we?
Though, on the other hand… look at society.
We have the average person, not caring about anything but their current situation and life. They have horrible work ethics, they want the paycheck but they do not want to work for it. Some even want simple handouts. They want to stay at home and play their video games or watch TV, and do nothing else with their life or those around them. It’s all about them. Now imagine that type of person having children and teaching that to their children. They grow up and do the same. Of course it is obvious with each generation it gets a bit worse. Do we really want to bring more people into the world like that? Personally…I say no. Abortion is a ‘touchy’ subject with most people. I seem to fall in the middle. I agree but disagree with it. I can honestly say I am neither hot, nor cold on this topic. But warm.
Government aid! (Like food stamps!) It’s –great- for people who actually need the help. It is a tool that should be used to help people get on their feet and be able to stand on their own for the first time or again after something happens.(And something ‘always’ happens, it’s called life) That’s what the government should be! Something there to help its people. Not help those in charge to become richer. Nor do I think it should be used to live off for the rest of ones life. I’ve seen it happen, and I know you’ve seen it as well. People who live off the government because they are too lazy to get out and get a job and at least try to make a life for themselves and their family. Or find that a job at the local fast food joint is ‘beneath’ them. Why should they do that when the government can do it for them? People who have MORE kids just so they can get MORE money and aid from the government, so they can continue to populate the world with an even more lazy mentality! (Read my abortion statement) If you can’t afford to have more kids, then don’t have more kids. Use protection, don’t have sex, do anything to not have more kids that you can’t feed on your own. It’s not fair to the children you already have, nor is it fair or right to the tax payer to have to pay for your laziness. Use the aid that is given to you as a tool to help you get on your feet!
With this said… I also realize that it is not an easy task to get on your feet all the time, with business people and corporations demanding more money from the every day citizen. It is impossible to live in a non low income housing (which by the way is very hard to get out of, cause if you get a raise or make more money your rent goes up making it next to impossible to save money and get yourself out into a better place) on minimum wage. If you live alone and you work 40 hours a week and you make 7.02 an hour (which is what Colorado wage is) you will find that you can’t make it. Let’s hope for your sake that you don’t have a car payment on top of your apartment rent and your utilities bill. Let’s not forget car insurance! (This does not include the luxury bills like cable and internet)
This is where the stem of most issues are, the government, corporations, and money hungry business owners, where it’s all about the profit and not the wellbeing of the person working under them.
No healthcare provided for those that can’t afford to have insurance or a job that gives them any. So, don’t get sick! Otherwise you’ll find yourself in debt over medical bills! Low income housing that keeps you there giving you no chance to rise above it. They don’t want you to leave, they want everything you have!
I am very displeased with the mentality of those behind most politics and how things are run. I am displeased with how money is the root of everything. World peace will never happen as I said before. Not when things are run like this. They don’t want peace. They want money. They want the power that comes with that money. Power isn’t something I feel you should strive for. It leaves those that you use and step on to get there in the ground below you. October 23 My thoughts on society and concerning society. Why I'm not excatly politically correct.DISCLAIMER:
I do not like nor promote racism. I am not discriminating against anyone in particular. However, my views expressed here are views that people don’t like to discuss in fear of being politically incorrect or... offending someone. So with that... I'll say this.... If you are touchy or get offended easily on such issues concerning politically correctness, then it might be in "your" best interest not to read to following thoughts and views. If you choose to go ahead and read this and do get offended by it… it's by your own doing, thus my reasoning for this disclaimer. These are my thoughts on society and concerning society, and not on my thoughts and views on morality of society.
There have been a few social issues that have come to my attention for quite some time now, but I would like to make -mention- of it. They are as followed.... First off I would like to point out that if I was a man writing this, I would be labeled to a lot [keep in mind I said allot and not all] of women as sexist, and I'm going to even go as far as there are women out there that would call me as a woman... a trader to my own sex. [What is this? War?] To put in simple terms… I think in my own thoughts that it is good to have women’s rights to be able to vote, and to have equality in the work place, as well as some might call it... to be independent. However... I think it should be put in those very simple terms. But women in this day and age are rising above that. You want an example… turn on your television. Commercials alone make the males look like idiots and the women to be almost... superior as you might call it. Now I’m not saying all commercials are like that but more then 50% are, if they involve a male and a female. In this society, women are allowed more rights then men are. You have women screaming for more rights... more rights for this... more rights for that. Women these days almost or do want a role reversal in what it was years and years ago. Enough is enough I say. We do have equal rights to be able to vote, we do have equal rights in the work place, and we do have rights to be independent. What we don’t have or shouldn’t have the rights to do... is the right to walk all over men simply because 'we can' And I know a lot of women out there have that attitude…That men are dumb and only good for what we want them. We sit around and talk smack about them behind their backs. We make fun of them and belittle them. I'm not saying that men don't do the same about us. I'm sure they do. But I'm also sure they don't nearly do it as much as we do. Women have the ability in this society to belittle men in public, however get greatly offended when men to the same to us. How is this equal rights? Wasn’t the whole women’s movement in simple terms asking for respect? Yet, a lot of women these days want it, and don’t want to give it, and my thoughts are if you want it you have to be able to give it. .... Ok on to the next topic on hand. First I would like to point out that I am not all that proud of my white history. We've stolen, killed, and done much worse things. And I also realize as a white person... I'm what our society would all... politically incorrect... in saying what I'm about to say. I have many black friends, and I respect them as humans, not by the color of their skin. But why is it... just like women’s rights it's turning into a role reversal thing? Yes. It was very bad that we brought people over from Africa and other places and used them as slaves. And I've yet to watch one movie that doesn't 'piss' me off at the whites treating them. [Or the Indians for that matter] But it seems to be ok for black culture to belittle the white culture. I don't agree with a lot of America’s standards, but one thing I am proud of is that we are one. That men are treated equally. And yet... why isn't that the fact? Once again... turn on your TV. Now if a white person was to use a negative word against a black person it's called racism... but when a black person calls a white person a negative word in society that’s ok? What is wrong with this picture? Has this country come so far that because our great great grandparents were close-minded in their ways [to put nicely] the future generations have to endure through it? Wasn't this supposed to be America? Land of the free? Perhaps that's what it is.... land to be close-minded. No matter what color or race you are. To put simply... the past is the past.... yeah... we messed up. We're sorry. But time mends all wounds. I despise racism. I don't care what color you are. Racism comes in all shades. I say we leave the past in the past, and move forward through it together. .... The next topic... and here's where a lot of people get sensitive.... gays and lesbians. My question is this... why is it... you have most gay men wanting to be more feminine... and most lesbians... wanting to me more masculine? That alone makes me wonder. The matter of me agreeing or disagreeing on this topic is NOT the point I want to make. I've come in contact with way to many people that love to argue on why it's right or not. Which leads me to my point. Why is it more and more these days gays and lesbians are becoming more in your face about it? I know what some of you might be thinking... this is America... free choice. And I agree. It is America, and people do have free choice. However getting in peoples faces about such issues that might or flat out don't agree with you is going beyond freedom of speech if you ask me. Most of the average people [that I've come into contact with] don't really care what they do. However they do tire of the whole I'm gay I'm gay so I’m going to be in your face about it. You want an example? I have yet to see or hear of a bunch of straight men and women having a parade strictly for the reason and purpose of being straight. If you want to be gay, so be it, no one can stop you in this society. But you can't make everyone agree with it or accept it. |
